FUNDRAISING EVENT

{SEEK}

ONLY 9 KITS / SPACES LEFT!!!!

Thank you to all the ladies who attended our 1^st Fundraising Scrap day for Brendan Bowen.   It was a huge success, however there is unfortunately still a shortfall in funds, and due to this we have decided to arrange another fun Scrapbooking Morning and hope you can all attend (or purchase kits).

You will create a double layout that has been specifically designed by Michelle van Wyk for this event.  Using KAISER craft new range of papers called HUNT & GATHER, this layout is perfect for those Bushveld, Holiday, Camping, Safari or even fishing photos.  Living in South Africa, we all have tons of photos that fall in these categories.  Our layout will include a pocket and flaps to hold up to 16 photos (or more !!)

(LOVE BLOOMS HERE)

This layout was designed by Sharon Coetzer.  It is not specifically a valentine page.  I used photo’s of children that I work with at a baby home. This layout includes an envelope with tags and some sewing.

INFORMATION:

Brendan Bowen was found in need of care on the 6th August 2002 at the age of 7 and placed in our foster care.  From a young age he was exposed to alcohol abuse and marital violence.   His family lived a nomadic lifestyle and he and his sister were severely neglected.   His father passed away during 2001, and his mother left him with family members, who were unable to support him.   Despite this background, Brendan is well adjusted, motivated and has adapted extremely well in the foster care situation.   Brendan is now 17 years old and is an all round achiever and has achieved extra-ordinarily on the sports field.   Northcliff High School has invited him to attend a Hockey Tour to London in April 2012 at a cost of R19 000.   We are therefore looking at fundraisers so that he can be part of this wonderful opportunity.

Thank you for supporting this very worthy fundraiser.

Regards,

SHARON COETZER

Nadine - hope you are getting cracking on ideas for Challenge 2 ....

Leap into February

Did you know that 2012 is a leap year?

So we have decided that we are going to LEAP INTO FEBRUARY ....  So what does that mean to you?

For an amount of R300-00 (to be paid in cash at Scrapbook 'N Things) you can attend as many classes in February 2012 as you would like.  How is that for a bargain!  That is definitely going to help you get all those photographs into your albums this year!

There are a few conditions to this special:

• you need to book your spot to attend class
• you need to do a new page each time you come to class
• you need to buy your plain paper in store

We have a bumper roster for February so there will definitely be something in there for you to do!  Check out our "classes" on www.scrapbookandthings.co.za to see the awesome classes to choose from.

In addition to this we are going to run a fun "bingo challenge" for the month of February for "leapers"  ... that should keep you motivated too ...

Challenge 2/2012

"The Challenge" has been something that I have been wanting to do for ages.  Last month I took the leap and started our first one.  The kit included 4 different double sided patterns, 6 assorted plain cardstock, some ribbon, pack of assorted flowers, some bling and alphabet stickers.  Each kit was exactly the same!

We also discounted the kit by 20% - making it affordable for everyone.

There is also a prize for the layout winner which is an American Craft Cardstock Bulk Pack (valued at R285-00) and R10-00 per challenge kit bought will be added to the grand prize.  So the ladies were really excited to get out there and start being creative ...

Challenge 1 has now ended.  All entries are displayed at Scrapbook 'N Things.  If you can, please pop into the store to vote for your favourite layout.  Voting closes on Saturday 28th January.

Just so you know - the entries for Challenge 1 have been mind blowing.  I really never expected the calibre of work that we received.  One thing that I learnt rather quickly is ... we have amazing scrapbookers right here in South Africa.

It is now time to launch Challenge 2.  They are packed and ready in store.  The cost for the kit this month is R155-00.  If you are wanting delivery within South Africa an additional R30-00 is to be added to this figure.

The kit needs to be completed by the end of February!  Voting will be within the first two weeks in March!  So you have a good month to get your creative juices flowing ...

More details are available on our web page www.scrapbookandthings.co.za - click on "challenge" in the menu bar.
